If you did not already know, Sharon Township has yard waste pickup included with your Local Waste services! Three trucks come around each Monday to collect trash, recycling and yard waste. Yard waste is required to be completely separated from trash, since it is not allowed in the landfill, but can still be placed at the curb next to your trash and recycling. The Sharon Township Trustees voted to place a 2.34 mill fire levy on the ballot on January 28, 2026.  This vote occurred after meeting each Wednesday in January, including a meeting at Tree of Life Church, on January 21, 2026.  The issue of the fire levy has been discussed at various meetings of the Sharon Township Trustees since September of 2025. The 2026 meeting calendar will be approved for the year this Wednesday (1/7) at our first meeting of 2026. There will be weekly meetings every Wednesday in January (1/7, 1/14, 1/21 & 1/28) where we will discuss both the proposed fire levy and the 2026 Road Department budget. WHAT IS THE NEW CART RECYCLING PROGRAM? Our community has decided to replace the smaller recycling bins that are currently used with larger wheeled recycling carts to improve our community’s recycling program at no cost to you. Wheeled recycling carts provide more room for recyclables, have a lid to prevent blowing litter, and are easier to move to the curb. In the Special Meeting on November 30 th , the Sharon Township Trustees accepted Craig Mayton’s resignation as interim trustee, accepted Michael Farley’s resignation as Fiscal Officer, swore Michael Farley in as Trustee, and voted to appoint Justin Adkins as Sharon Township Fiscal Officer.
